10 Ways to Cool Off This Summer in Sweet Baton Rouge

Our things to do in Sweet Baton Rouge keeps heating up, so we’re bringing you 10 ways to cool down this month! Whether you’re carpoolin’ the kids or looking for your next ladies’ night, we have you covered!

From National Pina Colada Day to I-Scream-For-Ice Cream, the month of July is jam packed with refreshing national holidays and events to help you beat the heat this summer! 

July 10 – National Pina Colada Day 

Do you like Pina Coladas? The Rum House has you covered! You can even enjoy their $2 tacos as this holiday coincidentally falls on Taco Tuesday!

July 11 – National Mojito Day 

You can find us winding down at Cane Land Distilling Company for this holiday! From mojitos to craft cocktails, they’re one of our favorite go-tos to grab a refreshing drink this summer.

July 15 – National Ice Cream Day 

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! This is the perfect sweet treat the whole family can enjoy! You’ll catch us trying out the new Freezing Cow rolled ice cream or heading to Curbside for a delicious shake!

July 19 – National Daiquiri Day 

DYK Cane Land Distilling Company gives you a reason to celebrate every day of the week? Swing by on Thursdays for $5 daiquiris from 4 – 11pm! PS – This holiday falls on a Thursday and they have Barre3 pop-up classes each Thursday in July!

July 24 – National Tequila Day

Taco bout a perfect day to celebrate tequila… You can find us sipping a frozen margarita all while enjoying Taco Tuesday at Superior Grill!

July 25 – National Wine and Cheese Day

Come wine-down with us at Bin 77! Their patio is the perfect spot for date night this summer. All you need is a glass of rose and some great company!

Aside from refreshing drinks, we’ve also compiled an ongoing list of places to go around the Capital City to cool off this month! Whether you’re hanging with friends or bringing the family along, these are a must-add to your itinerary!

 

BREC Parks 

From BREC’s Liberty Lagoon to Highland Road Park, there’s plenty to do this summer! We definitely recommend checking out the splash pad and children’s area at the lagoon.

Perkins Rowe Tuesdays 

Take a stroll at the Rowe on Tuesdays! DYK Cinemark has $5 movies all day on Tuesdays? Make a day of it and grab $2 pulled pork sandwiches at VooDoo and Rock N Pops for the kids!

Museums

Take your learning to a whole new level and play tourist at all of the museums in town! We recommend bringing the whole family to Knock Knock Children’s Museum or checking out the top of the New State Capitol!
